As part of the ongoing peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a trilateral meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has begun at the White House.
Prior to the trilateral talks, bilateral meetings were held between Pashinyan and Trump, as well as between Trump and Aliyev.
As previously reported, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan arrived in the United States on August 7–8.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Pashinyan also held a meeting with U.S. Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff.
During that meeting, the sides discussed the development of Armenia-U.S. strategic relations and the next steps in that direction. They also exchanged views on the prospects of trilateral meetings involving the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of the United States, and the President of Azerbaijan.
Prime Minister Pashinyan is accompanied by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office Arayik Harutyunyan, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan, Head of the “Civil Contract” faction in the National Assembly Hayk Konjoryan, and Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
