The Deputy Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia, Armen Asatryan, met with members of the first EU assessment mission visiting Armenia as part of the Visa Liberalisation Action Plan (VLAP).
Armen Asatryan, expressing his gratitude for the initiative of the meeting, presented to the delegation the structure and activities of the Anti-Corruption Committee, as well as the specific characteristics of investigations conducted in corruption-related criminal cases, according to a press release from the Committee.
He also discussed significant reforms carried out within the Committee in 2025 to enhance the targeting and effectiveness of combating corruption, particularly the formation of new divisions and the adoption of various legal acts aimed at improving the Committee's operations.
The deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Committee also presented improvements in the quality of criminal investigations during the reporting period, the effective use of professional potential, and new approaches adopted in the fight against corruption, including efforts in anti-corruption education. Attention was also given to the active cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies performing similar functions and the issues of international legal assistance in criminal cases.
EU mission experts expressed their gratitude to the deputy head of the Anti-Corruption Committee for providing comprehensive information on issues related to the fight against corruption and emphasized the importance of cooperation in this format.
