Armenia’s intention is clearly stated in the Government’s Action Plan. There is no such option, that is, should we be deprived of the right to manage our property? Such a thing cannot happen. We propose an amicable solution. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at the first session of the 9th convocation of the National Assembly, responding to the question of Mesrop Manukyan, a deputy of the 'Armenia' faction, regarding Armenia’s steps if the Russian side does not accept Armenia’s proposal to transfer the concession management of the railways to a third party.
“We must reach a solution. The RA Railways are the property of the RA. Ownership means that we can manage it the way we want. We have said how we want to manage it, and we will manage it the way we want,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
According to him, there are competent bodies in Armenia for this: the Government, the National Assembly.
“But we do not want to go that way, but if it turns out that there is no option, we will go that way. "What is there to be done, that is, should we sacrifice our historical opportunity for the sake of what? We will solve the issue, there is simply no other option," concluded Nikol Pashinyan.
Today in parliament, the Prime Minister asked his Russian colleagues to show flexibility and sell the concession rights to a third country acceptable to Armenia and Russia.
