Ukraine is already officially purchasing a new guided aerial bomb for the Armed Forces, while simultaneously developing nearly a dozen similar weapons that could change the balance in the skies, Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, head of the Central Directorate for Innovation Activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said in a comment to Ukrinform.
After completing the required testing, Ukraine's Vyrivniuvach guided aerial bomb is now officially being purchased for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, Ukraine is developing around a dozen promising precision-guided aerial weapons designed to reduce Russia's advantage in the use of guided aerial bombs.
“The enemy's average daily use of guided aerial bombs in 2025 was approximately 180 bombs, while they have now reached more than 300 per day. Accordingly, our task is not only to balance the situation quantitatively but also qualitatively — and even gain an advantage over the enemy,” he said.
According to Voloshyn, Ukrainian planning and guidance modules can turn conventional aerial bombs into precision weapons. Thanks to the new solutions, Ukrainian forces can strike enemy targets deep behind the front lines.
“Today, around a dozen promising examples of this type of weapon are being developed in Ukraine. All domestic developments are significantly cheaper than Western counterparts, which will allow production to be rapidly scaled up,” he said.
Voloshyn added that the Ukrainian Air Force has conducted hundreds of sorties to test the latest weapons kits.
