Armenian Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan, as part of his visit to Kenya for the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA-7), met with Varsen Aghabekian, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine.
“During the meeting, we discussed with Mrs. Aghabekian the organizational and agenda-related matters of the 17th Conference of the Parties (
COP17) to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, which will be hosted in Armenia in 2026. We emphasized the importance of international cooperation and ensuring the effective participation of country delegations,” Matevosyan said on social media.
“We also addressed the opportunities for experience sharing and strengthening partnerships within the framework of the conference. During the discussion, we explored the prospects for cooperation in the field of environmental protection, particularly in promoting joint initiatives on biodiversity conservation, responding to climate challenges, and advancing sustainable development,” he added.
