The French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that he has just held a phone call with US President Donald Trump and some colleagues on the issue of Ukraine.
Arriving at an event where he met readers of the Ouest France group to discuss democracy and social media, he apologised for the delay. The delay was due to the sometimes unpredictable nature of international events, Macron said.
"So we had these 40 minutes of discussion to try to make progress on a subject that concerns us all," Macron explained.
