Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze met Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic Ali Asadov, Georgian Government’s press office reports.
They discussed the strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan and the positive dynamics of deepening cooperation in various fields.
Kobakhidze emphasized the growing trade-economic cooperation and projects of regional importance, which Georgia and Azerbaijan jointly implement.
The parties discussed the importance of developing the middle corridor and the prospect of deepening the partnership in this regard, as well as strengthening regional cooperation on energy security.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Georgia's readiness to promote long-term peace and stability in the region through dialogue.
The meeting of the Prime Ministers of Georgia and Azerbaijan was held in Turkmenistan within the framework of the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.
