On December 10, the Vice President of the National Assembly, the Head of the Armenia-India Friendship Group Hakob Arshakyan, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha.
The members of the Armenia-India Friendship Group Tsovinar Vardanyan, Artur Khachatryan, Lilit Galstyan and Narek Babayan participated in the meeting.
Welcoming the Ambassador to parliament, Hakob Arshakyan highly appreciated the expansion of relations with friendly India and the deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. The NA Vice President highlighted the Ambassador’s fruitful work in strengthening bilateral ties.
The members of the Friendship Group spoke about regional developments, touched upon the initialing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Inter-State Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025 in Washington. The urgent resolution of humanitarian issues was emphasized: the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees in Baku.
The sides agreed that there is great potential for developing cooperation, particularly in the economic, defense, cultural and tourism sectors.
Thanking for the reception, the Ambassador spoke about the need for continuous development of bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of frequent mutual visits.
Referring to the regional issues, Nilakshi Saha Sinha underlined: “India wants to see Armenia strong and - the region peaceful.”
