Stating that the principled policy of Iran is based on respecting the territorial integrity of countries, the foreign minister said that Iran is against any change in borders or geopolitics of the region, Mehr reported.
Hossein Amirabdollahian made the comment in his meeting with Gevorg Papoyan, the Head of Armenia-Iran Friendship Group of the Armenian parliament, in Tehran on Tuesday, and called for the peaceful settlement of disputes between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Iran is against any change in the international borders or geopolitical changes in the region, Amirabdollahian emphasized.
Turning to the growing amicable relations between Iran and Armenia and the role of parliaments in developing friendly relations between the two countries, Iran’s top diplomat emphasized the efforts of Iran to further expand relations.
Also, Amirabdollahian stressed the facilitation of transportation and transit between the two countries by reducing customs duties and costs, participation of Iranian companies in the implementation of economic and infrastructure projects in Armenia.
