The annual gathering of the leadership of the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the heads of Armenia’s diplomatic missions abroad continues.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the significance of this year’s Ambassadors’ gathering, noting that the Republic of Armenia, including its diplomatic service, is entering a new phase. Minister Mirzoyan noted that while the key message of the discussion held in the same format last year, following August 8, was the importance of continuously strengthening the established peace, today peace has become a reality.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that, in the current realities, both the challenges and opportunities are different, and the diplomatic service will continue to play a key role in addressing these challenges and making the most of these opportunities, while fulfilling the new task entrusted to it by the people of the Republic of Armenia to consistently strengthen the country’s independence and resilience.
Reference was also made to the most severe challenges faced over the previous five years and the joint work undertaken in overcoming them.
Touching upon the new prospects for Armenia’s development and effective integration into the regional connectivity network, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that today Armenia has a historic opportunity and that the Government is making consistent efforts towards achieving significant results in this direction.
Minister Mirzoyan answered questions from the heads of Armenia’s diplomatic missions.
Issues related to both the normalization and development of relations with neighbors and the deepening of partnerships across a broad geography, as well as the diversification of ties, were discussed, with emphasis also placed on fully realizing the economic component.
The steps aimed at the continued institutionalization of peace were also touched upon.
Views were exchanged on international and regional developments, as well as the new priorities of Armenia’s engagement in multilateral platforms.
