Since the resumption of the naval blockade of Iranian ports, US forces have forced the crews of 83 merchant ships to change their course, according to a statement from the US Central Command (CENTCOM) in the Middle East.
"As of August 30, CENTCOM forces have diverted 83 merchant ships, disabling three," the command said in a statement posted on its X page.
The US resumed its naval blockade of Iran on July 14.
