Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has urged the United Nations and the UN Security Council to respond to the latest US economic offensive against the country, official IRNA reports.
In a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Araghchi describes the US sanctions and attempt to stop other countries from cooperating with Iran a violation of the UN Charter.
He slams Washington’s efforts as illegal, unilateral, and “bullying”.
Araghchi calls on the UN to condemn and reject the US measures and respect Iran’s right to sovereign equality.
The foreign minister urges reparations and the creation of a report on the humanitarian and human rights consequences of the US strikes on Iran.
