Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that some Western partners have appealed to Kyiv to reduce attacks on Russian oil facilities.
These appeals stem from the global energy crisis caused by the ongoing war in Iran and Tehran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which has led to a significant oil shortage on the market. Although Zelensky did not specify the parties appealing, it is assumed that the appeal is primarily about the United States, which is trying to stabilize world energy prices.
The Ukrainian president stressed that Kyiv is ready to stop attacks on the Russian energy system only on the principle of reciprocity, if Moscow, in turn, stops attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. In addition, Zelensky expressed Ukraine's readiness to establish a temporary ceasefire in connection with the Easter holiday.
