Today is a very important and historic day, Chief of the Armenian Prime Minister’s Staff Arayik Harutyunyan told reporters.
“Peace is now a reality, and we must acknowledge that,” Harutyunyan said, stressing that the most important factor hindering Armenia’s development has been the absence of peace.
“I am confident that all the documents signed at the White House will contribute exclusively to the development of Armenia and the region — first and foremost, to Armenia’s development.
The blockade we have experienced for years has prevented us from fully developing all sectors of the economy.
I am certain that in a matter of weeks we will see significant reactions in this regard,” Harutyunyan stated.
Earlier, it was reported that following a trilateral meeting, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a declaration related to Trump’s path to international prosperity and peace. The Prime Minister published the text of the declaration.
In Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States, preliminarily signed the “Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
