Ukraine is continuing its work with the United States and other partners to create conditions for real diplomacy and an end to the war, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address. He added that Kyiv is ready for all formats of meetings and expects Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to remain actively involved in the negotiation process in August.
Zelenskyy also said Ukraine is seeking a special fast-track procedure for joining the European Union. According to him, Kyiv wants to advance simultaneously across all areas of integration, while the government is expected to present details of the accelerated accession programme in August.
The President also approved new operations by the Security Service of Ukraine and outlined its priorities for August. He said Ukrainian drones put 30,272 Russian soldiers out of action in July, including those killed and seriously wounded, based only on cases confirmed by video. Zelenskyy added that strengthening air defence remains Ukraine’s top priority.
