The TRIPP company will be directly involved in the construction and subsequent operation of railway and road infrastructure, while there will be other types of infrastructure (as provided for in the document), for the implementation, planning, construction, and management of which the TRIPP development company may establish subsidiaries or, as commonly referred to, special-purpose entities. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a press conference held in the United States.
“In each of these cases, private companies may also be involved, but I can again assure that this will be done with the consent of Armenia's Government, with the participation of Armenia's Government, presumably with its share of revenues and profits,” he said.
According to Mirzoyan, Armenia will also grant the TRIPP company development rights on the land necessary for infrastructure projects.
Addressing speculation that, under TRIPP, any land plots in Armenia are being alienated or leased, Mirzoyan clarified: “Armenia will grant development rights on its land, just as it does for many—dozens or hundreds—of companies operating in the Republic of Armenia.”
It should be recalled that on January 13, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Later, Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a joint statement on the publication of the Armenia–U.S. implementation framework for the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project, the text of which was disseminated by the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America.
