Taking into account that the number of the mopeds, tricycles and quadricycles has recently increased in the road traffic, we propose to bring these types of vehicles into the scope of mandatory insurance. Currently, more than 2,500 two-wheeled mopeds, 30 three-wheeled mopeds, and more than 120 tricycles and quadricycles are registered in the electronic registry. The RA Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan said, presenting the draft law on Making Amendments and Addendum to the Law on Compulsory Insurance Against Liability Arising from the Use of Motor Vehicles for debate in the first reading for debate of the parliament in the first reading.
The Deputy Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Armen Khachatryan presented the endorsement on the draft, urging his colleagues to vote in favour of it.
During Q &A session Armen Ghazaryan clarified that the abovementioned vehicles will be insured by their owners.
The issue was debated at the March 3 NA regular sitting, Armenia’s Parliament press office reports.
