According to our proposal, cargo can cross the border of Armenia from Azerbaijan, especially in the first phase. For example, with the Meghri railway that is, in the southernmost part and again cross the border of Armenia, exit, enter Nakhijevan. And we have the opportunity to use the territory of Nakhijevan in particular, the railway to send our cargo directly to the south in the same way. This was stated by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during Friday’s meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of Armenia.
“The two countries can in the same way use each other’s, for example, the railway network for international transportation also. If this becomes a reality, we can receive goods from China by railway, and it will come, pass through Armenia, go through the west, through Turkey, reach where it ends. Okay, with multimodal, you can, for example, cross the Mediterranean by boat and continue... That is, the opportunities are equal for both countries," Mirzoyan added.
