Russian President Vladimir Putin has visited the command point of the Kursk grouping of forces wearing a uniform and listened to a report by Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Army General Valery Gerasimov, TASS reports.
"Members of the Ukrainian army units fighting against the Russian authorities in the Kursk Region are legally considered terrorists and should be treated as such", Vladimir Putin said.
"Russian forces repelling Ukraine’s attack on the Kursk Region have entered the Sumy Region in certain areas", Army General Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and first deputy defense minister, reported to President Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian forces have received an order to withdraw from the town of Sudzha in Russia's Kursk Region, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky said.
"Units of the defense forces, if needed, can make a maneuver in order to move to more advantageous positions. First of all, this applies to the unmanned component and artillery fire assets. I gave all the necessary orders to this effect," he wrote on Telegram.
This is the first time he has visited the Kursk Region since the Ukrainian forces’ incursion.
Russia’s borderline Kursk Region came under a massive attack from Ukraine on August 6, 2024.
