Lilit Stepanyan, deputy of the ‘Civil Contract’ faction, during the Parliament-Government question-and-answer session, asked Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan what reactions the minister's presented positions received at the special session of the OSCE Council.
“Yesterday, a special session of the Council was held in the OSCE on our initiative, at our request, and there I first gave a report, a speech, and then other member states or organizations also expressed their position. The discussion took place in closed mode, and I will not reserve the right to reveal individual details, but I can share a general impression.
My speech was followed by many speeches, and from those speeches, it is at least clear that the international community has a fairly clear understanding of what is happening in the Lachin Corridor, including who has violated what, including who is doing what, what obligations have been breached, who breached them and what obligations must be fulfilled but are not being fulfilled. There is a clear understanding, and not only in the OSCE. You can also see it in the public positions of foreign ministries and parliaments of different countries. This international position will lead to very specific results eventually.
Referring to the work being done at the UN and the expectations from the platform, Mirzoyan reminded that a document was being circulated - it should have been a statement by the president of the UN Security Council.
“Unfortunately, it was not possible to adopt it due to the positions of some countries, sometimes friendly countries, but the work continues, the UN Security Council is an important platform, and we will continue the work there,” said the Foreign Minister.
