President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegation led by Thierry Ribaud, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia.
During the meeting, Khachaturyan praised Armenia's cooperation with the ICRC. "We appreciate it even more now, given that you are represented in both Yerevan and Stepanakert," Khachaturyan said when greeting the guests.
He also appreciated the ICRC's efforts to bring together those still detained in Azerbaijan and their relatives and to obtain information about their general state of health.
In his turn, Mr. Ribaud thanked the President of Armenia for his reception and welcomed representatives of governmental bodies for their support for the ICRC activities.
In the course of the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the detained and missing persons in Azerbaijan after the 44-day war unleashed by Baku.
The sides also stressed that humanitarian issues must not become subject to political speculation.
