The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan called the Iranian side's claims that Baku is deliberately obstructing the export of goods from Iran to Russia baseless and untrue.
A statement issued by the committee said that the Astara customs checkpoint continues to operate in an intensified manner, and the accumulation of trucks at the border is due to the problems in Iran. In particular, according to the Azerbaijani side, the reason for the queues of trucks on October 15-16 was a 10-hour breakdown in the computer system on the Iranian side.
Earlier, Jalil Jalifar, member of the board of directors of the Iran-Russia Chamber of Commerce, accused Baku of deliberately obstructing exports from Iran to Russia.
