The US State Department has disclosed details of an agreement between Washington and Berlin over the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline.
The RIA Novosti Telegram channel gives the details of the agreement.
The key provisions of the agreement are as follows:
-
The USA and Germany will not tolerate if the Russian Federation uses gas as a weapon;
-
Germany will send a package of measures to support the European energy market;
-
Berlin will take measures at the national level and at the level of the European Union if Russia continues "harmful activity" (it’s also about sanctions);
-
Germany will allocate more than 200 million Euros to support the energy sector and remove Ukraine’s energy dependence;
-
Berlin agrees to establish a billion dollar ‘green fund’ to support Ukraine's energy security;
-
Germany will use all levers in the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations on the extension of the transit contract between Kiev and Moscow.
In addition, the State Department reported that the United States had contact with the Ukraine and Poland in the development of these agreements.
Earlier Victoria Nuland officially spoke about the announcement of the details of the agreement between the United States and Germany on Nord Stream-2.
She also said that the parties to the agreement expressed their readiness to insist on a 10-year extension of the agreement on the transit of Russian gas through the Ukraine.
