Military hostilities between Iran and the United States continue unabated. The United States has been carrying out strikes against Iran for five consecutive days, targeting coastal defense facilities as well as missile and drone installations. The stated objective is to reduce Iran's ability to strike vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iran's Ministry of Health, U.S. strikes over the past several days have killed 35 people and injured around 300 others.
Meanwhile, Iran's maritime blockade continues. According to U.S. Central Command, American forces struck a tanker attempting to sail to one of Iran's ports.
Iran, in turn, responded by targeting U.S. facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan. A drone attack also took place in Erbil, the capital of Iraq's Kurdistan Region. One drone was intercepted near the U.S. Consulate, while two others were shot down near a U.S. military base on the outskirts of the city.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Iran's operations are now focused on destroying U.S. offensive military infrastructure across the region, after which the next phase of its campaign will begin.
