The Armenian Foreign Ministry confirmed that, as of 3:00 p.m., it had received a letter from Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov addressed to Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure regarding reports of possible Russian measures linked to Armenia’s European integration process.
According to Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan, the letter has been forwarded to the relevant authorities for review, and the Armenian side will respond if necessary.
“By 3:00 p.m., the letter addressed to Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure had been received. It has been forwarded, will be examined, and the Armenian side will respond as necessary,” Badalyan stated.
Earlier, Russian media outlets reported that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Moscow could unilaterally suspend or terminate agreements on the supply of natural gas, petroleum products, and unprocessed diamonds if Yerevan continues its process toward European Union membership.
Zakharova reportedly said that a letter containing this warning had been delivered to Armenia’s Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure through the Russian ambassador to Armenia.
