Reuters/CCTV. The Navy of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Thursday that 31 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz within the past 24 hours in coordination with its forces, according to the country's official IRNA news agency.
The IRNA report quoted the IRGC Navy as saying in a statement released on Thursday that these vessels include oil tankers, container and commercial ships.
The statement said despite the unprecedented insecurity created by the U.S. military across the Persian Gulf, especially in the Strait of Hormuz, the IRGC Navy will continue to work to establish a clear and safe passage for global trade.
The U.S. Central Command said in a statement released on social media on Thursday that the U.S. continues to enforce a naval blockade against Iran. "As of May 21, CENTCOM forces have redirected 94 commercial vessels and disabled 4," said the statement.
