A number of American embassies have temporarily suspended work in response to the situation in the Middle East.
The US Embassy in Lebanon announced that it “will be closed until further notice.” The statement noted that all regular and emergency consular receptions have been canceled, and additional information about the resumption of work will be provided later.
Earlier on Monday, the US also closed its embassies in Kuwait and the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The US also evacuated its embassy in Jordan the day before after the sounds of explosions were heard in nearby areas. At the same time, in Oman, US government employees were prohibited from visiting the city of Duqm and its vicinity, as well as an area within a 100-kilometer radius of the city of Salalah.
