Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili met with members of the bipartisan delegation from the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, 1tv.ge reports.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the sides reviewed current issues of relations between Georgia and the United States, as well as ongoing processes in the region. The significance of peace and stable development of the region was accentuated during the meeting.
“Special emphasis was placed on Georgia’s role as a regional connector, namely with respect to the transport potential of the Middle Corridor. Georgia welcomed the U.S. active engagement in the region.
The delegation members reiterated unconditional, unwavering and bipartisan support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They underscored Georgia’s role in both global and regional politics and security issues.
Georgian Foreign Minister reconfirmed the Georgian government’s wish and readiness to reset relations and restore strategic partnership with the U.S.,” the Foreign Ministry said.
