Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan on Monday received a delegation of the UN Electoral Needs Assessment Mission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a readout.
During the meeting, Abisoghomonyan presented the electoral reform process implemented by the Armenian government, stressing that the organization of free, fair, and transparent elections remains among the government’s key priorities.
The deputy foreign minister highly appreciated Armenia’s cooperation with the United Nations aimed at strengthening democratic governance and ensuring effective electoral processes.
Abisoghomonyan reaffirmed Armenia’s commitment to further developing an open and constructive partnership with the UN, focused on implementing systematic reforms, strengthening public trust in electoral processes, enhancing the institutional readiness of electoral bodies, and increasing the resilience of democracy.
He noted that the visit of the UN Electoral Needs Assessment Mission is a good opportunity to identify Armenia's priority needs, assess risks related to hybrid threats, discuss issues of international support for electoral reforms, as well as strengthen long-term institutional resilience.
