Talks and contacts between Armenia and the United States began long ago, almost immediately after August 8, and are now continuing very intensively, focusing on the technical details necessary to establish the company that will implement the TRIPP Route, and later, various technical solutions will need to be worked out on the ground. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this during Monday’s debates on the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2026” in the National Assembly.
“Whatever those technical solutions, the conditions may be, everything will take place under the agreed and signed principles, within the jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia.
Of course, when we talk about institutionalizing of peace and establishing good-neighborly relations, we must also note that there are still issues that remain unresolved at this moment, or are being resolved with difficulty, or are considered most difficult to resolve.
Here we must definitely mention the issue of releasing those [Armenians] held captive in [Azerbaijan’s] Baku, the captives, along with other humanitarian matters such as, for example, clarifying the fate of missing persons, and so on. There are many other issues. And if you ask for my personal assessment, I would say that this, nonetheless, remains a significant obstacle, it’s a natural and objective consequence, which still requires further efforts to overcome. These are, of course, manifestations of the mutual distrust that exists between the two societies.
But believing in the creation of a peaceful, cooperative environment around the Republic of Armenia, we will continue, step by step, to work toward resolving all issues,” emphasized the Armenian foreign minister.
