Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted Her Majesty Queen Mathilde of Belgium, who is on a working visit to our country.
The Prime Minister welcomed the Queen’s visit to Armenia and expressed hope that she will receive warm impressions from our country. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized Her Majesty’s leadership as a champion of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and added that Armenia is taking consistent steps to best implement the commitments undertaken within the framework of the 2030 Agenda.
Queen Mathilde thanked for the warm hospitality and noted that she is impressed by Armenia. Her Majesty attached importance to the protection of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the implementation of measures to that end. In this context, both sides emphasized the role of inclusive and quality education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The issue of strengthening the role of women in society and the steps being taken in that direction were also touched upon.
They also exchanged views on establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and efforts aimed at ensuring stability in the region.
