“I am very pleased to have witnessed during this visit the open approach the Government of Armenia is demonstrating in engaging with civil society through meetings and dialogue”, said Elina Valtonen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland and OSCE Chair-in-Office, during a joint press conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“As the OSCE Chair-in-Office, Finland places great importance on the strength and foundation of democracy, as well as on transparency within society. All of this is about empowering people to make decisions and choose their own path,” she said.
Speaking about relations between Armenia and Finland, Valtonen added: “We highly value our bilateral relations with Armenia and hope they will grow even stronger as we move forward.
We welcome the continued relationship and partnership between Armenia and Finland at all levels — political and economic — and remain committed to advancing the pillars of peace and prosperity”.
