In the early hours of October 11, the Russian army launched a massive drone strike on Odessa and the region. As a result of the attack, energy infrastructure facilities as well as residential and commercial buildings were damaged,

According to the Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 47-year-old woman was injured and taken to the hospital. As a result of the shelling, 44 settlements in the region remain without electricity.
A destroyed house in the city has been recorded as a direct consequence of the strike; damage was recorded in a three-story building of a hotel and restaurant complex, several private houses, and the glass on one floor of a 25-story building.
Prosecutors, together with the police and the SBU, are documenting the consequences of the shelling. The Odessa Regional Prosecutor’s Office has opened a pre-trial investigation into war crimes, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The State Emergency Service reports that as a result of the hits there were fires at energy infrastructure facilities and the three-story building of the hotel and restaurant complex. Firefighters rescued two people and promptly extinguished the fire. Three residential buildings were also damaged.
Twenty units of equipment and 78 rescuers were involved in firefighting – including the State Emergency Service, volunteer firefighters, and the city unit.
The air raid alert was issued at 00:30, with the all-clear at 01:32 after reconnaissance by a group of Russian drones and the work of the air defense forces in the region.
The situation in the region continues to be monitored, the extent of the destruction is being documented, and the investigation into the circumstances of the strike continues.
