Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held talks in Moscow with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. Lavrov stressed that the two countries consider each other privileged strategic partners.
Lavrov also announced that the Russian president will visit India by the end of the year. Jaishankar, in turn, said that the countries maintain high-level relations in the field of defense and military-technical cooperation.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced the imposition of higher tariffs on goods imported from India, citing New Delhi's purchases of Russian oil and military equipment.
