Armenia’s Ambassador Vahagn Afyan, while participating in an environmental ceremony in Chandigarh highlighted the significance of hosting COP17 in Armenia.
In his remarks, Ambassador Afyan particularly emphasized the urgency of collective action to protect the environment. He underscored that next year Yerevan will be at the center of global biodiversity discussions and, welcoming the leadership role Armenia has taken, reaffirmed the country's commitment to advancing the global environmental agenda.
The Mayor of Chandigarh, Mrs Harpreet Kaur Babla, in turn, highly appreciated the Armenian Ambassador’s participation in the tree-planting initiative organized by the local authorities.
