Reuters. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed leaders including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the La Nuvola convention centre in Rome at the beginning of a two day-conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine on Thursday (July 10).
The conference - the fourth such event since Russia's February 2022 invasion of its neighbor - is mainly aimed at mobilizing international support for Ukraine.
An Italian government source said about 500 billion euros ($585 billion) would be needed for the reconstruction, recovery and modernisation of Ukraine, citing World Bank estimates.
