We discussed international and regional issues. We paid special attention to the issues in our common region, the South Caucasus. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
“We are convinced that the issues arising here should be resolved first and foremost by the countries located here and by our close neighbors.
In no way are we against extra-regional states, which is provided for in current world practice, developing their relations with the countries located here with the understanding that such cooperation is not aimed at creating tension in the region or at undermining the countries located here for geopolitical games, which have not led anywhere to anything good.
Therefore, our position is as follows: we are open to cooperation with all those who are ready to do so honestly, without any hidden agendas.
In line with this approach, we confirmed that Russia is ready to continue to support Yerevan and Baku in the future to achieve full peace and agreement, signing a peace treaty and comprehensively unblocking economic and transport infrastructure, delimitating and demarcating the state border. The solid foundation of these processes is the complex of trilateral agreements at the highest level, with Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani agreements reached in 2020 and 2022," he said.
