Garibashvili says impartial mediator Georgia is interested in establishing regional peace

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili stated that yesterday prime ministers of Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan had an informal tripartite meeting.

“Georgia, as an impartial mediator, a friend of Armenia and Azerbaijan, is interested in establishing peace in the region,” said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, at the opening ceremony of the construction of the Tbilisi Azerbaijani State Drama Theater named after Heydar Aliyev, in which the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov participated, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.

Irakli Garibashvili thanked the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan for participating in the Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

“We appreciate it very much. We also appreciate the fact that we held important meetings together yesterday. There was also a tripartite meeting and a conversation. As an impartial, neutral, objective mediator and a friend of both countries, Armenia and Azerbaijan, Georgia is interested in establishing long-lasting peace and stability in the region. Georgia and I, as the head of the Government, are ready to engage in this process,” said Irakli Garibashvili.
