As part of the visit of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Narek Mkrtchyan, to Great Britain, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the British Care for Children NGO for the purpose of expanding cooperation in the field of child rights protection and developing the foster care institute, which is the result of previously established close cooperation.
In January 2023, at the invitation of Minister Mkrtchyan, Robert Glover, the founder of the Care for Children NGO, was also present in Armenia during the screening of the film "Shanghai's Children" about foster care. to share his own experience and his vision of foster family development.
Prince Michael George Charles Franklin of Kent, a supporter of the Care for Children NGO, also took part in the memorandum signing ceremony.
Within the framework of the memorandum, it is planned to improve the processes ensuring the realization of the right of a child in a difficult life situation to live in a family through the exchange of experience, trainings and professional visits, as well as to organize the holding of a regional conference on the topic "Development of the Care Institute" to be held in Yerevan in September 2023. An agreement was reached to hold it regularly in Armenia.
