Armenia remains committed to the policy of resolving existing problems through negotiations, and we are ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a discussion at the Transatlantic Relations Center in Prague.
He presented the main obstacles to signing a contract now.
“Until now, it has not been possible to agree on such text formulations, in which it will be clearly stated that Azerbaijan recognizes the territorial integrity of Armenia with an area of 29,800 square kilometers. The mechanism of guaranteeing the security and rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh is still uncertain. The format of the Stepanakert-Baku dialogue is also uncertain, which, in our opinion, should take place within the framework of the international mechanism.
Until now, it has not been possible to agree on the mechanisms to overcome the differences in the interpretation of the text of the peace treaty, and finally, there is no agreement on the international mechanisms for the implementation of the peace treaty. We continue our efforts to achieve success in all the mentioned areas,” said Pashinyan.
