Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan touched upon the issue of negotiations with Azerbaijan in a briefing with journalists. He noted that a specific day, when the talks will take place, has not been decided yet.
“There is a preliminary agreement between the parties, but everything is still in the negotiation stage, besides, beginning of the talks, the day, all the other elements," said the Deputy Foreign Minister.
As for the possibility of delimitation in case of a mirror withdrawal of troops, Paruyr Hovhannisyan noted that the issue is under discussion.
"Discussions have started. This proposal is on the table, a number of our international partners have expressed their positive position on this proposal. We will see how it will be during the talks,” he said.
Referring to the observation that the Armenian side no longer insists on the issue of mirror withdrawal of troops, the Deputy Minister noted that our position on this issue is unchanged.
“It cannot be claimed that the Armenian side does not claim. The negotiation process is secret. We are not present at the negotiating table. I am not a member of the negotiating team, but I can say one thing that, as the Prime Minister has stated on several occasions, our position on this issue remains unchanged,” Paruyr Hovhannisyan said.
