Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told Xinhua news agency in an interview on Saturday, that the only way peace can be reestablished in Ukraine "is [through restoring] sovereignty over the entire territory within its internationally recognized borders."
Previously, Kuleba stated that a "security vacuum" in the region led to the conflict with Russia. He also called out the hypocrisy of certain countries and accused the West of using "excuses and half-measures" against Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier said that there is a significant risk that the peace negotiations with Russia will be brought to a halt, due to the alleged misdoings of its armed forces in parts of Ukraine they control.
The Ukrainian government hopes that China will urge Russia to cease fire, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said in an interview with Xinhua news agency.
"We hope that China will proceed from the position on the need to prevent the escalation and will call on Russia for a ceasefire," he said.
