The United States stands for a long-term solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. This was announced by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“I have been quite active and directly cooperating with the leadership of both Armenia and Azerbaijan. In particular, a week ago, I had telephone conversations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as with the foreign ministers of the two countries, trying to help promote the prospect of a long-term political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” he said during a hearing in the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
According to him, in this regard, Washington is developing “various measures aimed at strengthening trust.”
“We are against any unilateral action, especially by Azerbaijan, which is aggravating the situation,” Blinken said.
