The European Commission is waiting for the EU member states to approve the special order on the reception of Ukrainian refugees. Ylva Johansson, the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs reported.
“Around 1 million refugees from Ukraine have already arrived in EU, we will be ready to receive one million more refugees”, she said.
Johansson mentioned that the citizens of Ukraine do not yet present asylum petitions, so the EU countries do not observe options for relocating them on the basis of quotas for now.
