At the joint press conference of the Austrian Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Europe Alexander Schallenberg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan also touched upon the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations.
“Nothing has changed in Armenia's position on this issue over the years. As in the previous 25-30 years, so today, Armenia believes that the borders between Armenia and Turkey should be opened, and diplomatic relations between our countries should be established without preconditions. It is with this expectation that we have re-entered the process of this dialogue.
You know that one meeting has taken place so far. Of course, the first meeting could not address many substantive issues, but there are some positive signals that the process will be successful,” Mirzoyan said.
According to him, obviously this is one of the issues that does not depend on the position of one side only.
