On January 26, the Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan received Lila Pieters Yahia, the acting United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator in Armenia.
The Deputy PM congratulated the UN Representative for being appointed in this responsible position and expressed readiness to closely cooperate in implementing programs to promote democracy, security, peace and stability.
Hambardzum Matevosyan highly evaluated the support and efforts of the UN office directed to Armenia’s fight against COVID-19, and the settlement of the humanitarian issues caused by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Lila Pieters Yahia mentioned that despite the 2020 challenges, Armenia keeps moving forward and UN is ready to support the development agenda of the Armenian government in the framework of its mandate.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the wide range of issues of mutual interest and agreed on making the cooperation more effective in the e-government.
