System of a Down - SOAD for Artsakh

The Armenian community of California continues to organize mass events in all Armenian-populated cities. These are protests, awareness campaigns and fundraisers to help Artsakh.

The next event was organized by the members of "System of a Down" rock band. They met with worshipers at St Leon's Cathedral in Glendale. Shavo Odadjyan and John Dolmayan signed the shirts, which were sold on the spot.

Proceeds will be donated to the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. Hundreds of Armenian-Americans took part in the event, who stood in a long line to receive the signatures of Armenian rock stars and to take part in a charity event.

Many Americans also took part in the event, noting that they are big fans of "System of a Down", but came not only to see them, but also to help the people of Artsakh.

"The reason we are here today is the desire to raise awareness about the current war in Armenia and Artsakh. The second goal is to raise money, which is urgently needed not only for the war, but also for the further reconstruction of Artsakh. Many in the United States do not find out what is happening because they are worried about the coronavirus, the recovery of the economy and the presidential elections.

We must do everything to attract attention. As Armenians, we must deliver what we have to say in a united way, unlike in 1915. Now is not 1915, we have much more power and capacity", said "System of a Down" member John Dolmayan.

According to Shavo Odajyan, this is an awareness campaign so that people know that the problem is not only Armenian or Turkish, this is actually a humanitarian problem.

"All the superpowers of the world today allow genocide to take place, the killing of innocent civilians for no reason. They allow this to happen because they are blind and deaf and look away, which is madness. That's why we are here to inform, to raise money to help in any way", he said.
