The RA Ministry of Health informs that as of 11:00 on September 2, 4 more new cases of alcohol poisoning were registered in Armavir region and Yerevan, 1 of which resulted in death. Another victim, who was admitted to University Hospital No. 1, died on September 1.
The total number of cases between August 31 and September 2 reached 27, of which 14 were fatal.
20 out of 27 cases (9 of which were fatal) were registered in Armavir region. Out of the remaining 11 cases of Armavir region, 9 are receiving treatment in "Armenia" RMC, 2 are discharged after medical examination. All of them used non-factory vodka obtained from the same place.
7 out of 27 cases were registered in Yerevan. An epidemiological examination revealed that these cases were not related to the events in Armavir. 5 of them are fatal, 1 is receiving treatment at No. 1 University Hospital, 1 - at "Armenia" RMC.
Some of the victims used medical alcohol as a substitute for vodka, the epidemiological studies are underway to determine the type of alcohol used in other cases.
