The website of the Turkish pro-government newspaper Sabah reports that Turkey's Ministry of Trade has implemented technical adjustments to its customs system as part of the normalization process with Armenia, according to ermenihaber.am.
Under these adjustments, Armenia's official country code, "077," can now be used in customs declarations for import, export, and transit transactions conducted with Armenia through third countries. The corresponding updates have already been integrated into Turkey's customs software system (BİLGE).
Within this framework, it will be possible to designate the final destination or origin of goods sent from Turkey to a third country—and subsequently to Armenia—as "Armenia/Turkey."
According to the source, the current trade turnover between Turkey and Armenia stands at approximately $335–350 million, with a short-term goal to increase this figure to $1 billion.
