Ahead of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov's visit to Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Azerbaijan is one of Russia's key partners in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region.
"Relations between our countries continue to develop in the spirit of friendship and good-neighborliness. Our day-to-day cooperation is based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and consideration of each other's interests. The Russian side is committed to fully unlocking the potential of the Declaration on Allied Interaction between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed in Moscow on February 22, 2022," the ministry said.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the “3+3” regional cooperation platform has significant potential. The mechanism is intended to help address regional issues and challenges through the efforts of the regional countries and their neighbors, without external interference.
"Peace and stability in the South Caucasus remain important to us. As before, we stand ready to provide the requested assistance in the full normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the conclusion of a peace treaty, border delimitation, and the unblocking of transport links," the ministry stated.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said it views Bayramov's visit as a continuation of the trust-based political dialogue between Russia and Azerbaijan and an opportunity to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
